The Basic Course in Forging offers an in-depth introduction to traditional blacksmithing. Over five days, you will immerse yourself in the craft and gain a deeper understanding of how to work hot steel using classic tools and techniques, guided step by step by an experienced blacksmith.
What will you learn?
Fundamental blacksmithing techniques, such as Bending and tapering, Upsetting and splitting, Punching holes
How to work safely and efficiently at the forge
Controlling heat and understanding the smithy environment
Working hot steel with hammer and anvil
You will forge items such as:
Hooks and nails
A door handle
A candleholder
A simple knife
Your own project ideas, where time allows
Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for beginners and those with limited prior experience who want to build a solid foundation in traditional blacksmithing.
No previous experience is required
Ideal for those seeking a deeper understanding of the craft
Minimum age is 16.
Instruction is given in Swedish and English.

Course Schedule
The course runs over five days and combines intensive hands-on forging sessions with regular breaks, shared meals and time for reflection.
