Second Grade Axes

Gränsfors Second Grade Axes consist of fully functional axes that deviate slightly from the defined specifications. As all axes from Gränsfors Bruk are hand-forged, minor variations can occur during production, especially compared to mass-produced items. Each axe has strict specifications for dimensions, length and weight, and any axe with a defect that affects function is immediately discarded.

Some axes, however, differ from the specification in purely cosmetic ways, such as a slightly wider edge or a minor variation in the axe head, without affecting performance. Rather than disposing of these axes, Gränsfors Bruk chooses to sell them for environmental reasons. These axes are offered exclusively in the webshop under the Second Grade category at reduced prices.

Availability varies, as deviations occur at random, meaning neither models, quantities nor the exact cosmetic deviation can be guaranteed. What is guaranteed is that all second-grade axes have no functional defects and perform just as well as any other Gränsfors axe.
