Build a Timber Frame House in Gränsfors
Over six days, you will work with traditional Timber framing construction and take part in building and raising a small post-and-beam house using the Square Rule method. The course follows the entire building process—from the first measurements to the raising of the frame—and provides both hands-on experience and theoretical understanding.
The work is carried out using Swedish pine from the forests of Hälsingland and traditional methods, broadaxes, and tools from Gränsfors Bruk. Together with other participants, you will build a post-and-beam structure of approximately 3 × 5 meters, with the goal of raising the construction during the course.
The course takes place in Gränsfors and is led by the experienced timber craftsman Andreas Hipf. It is aimed both at beginners and those with some experience in wood construction who want to work closely with the material and deepen their understanding of timber framing.
