Our axes are a craft created to last for several generations. If you take care of your axe properly, we promise that it will be a life partner not only for you – but also for your children and grandchildren.
The Axe Care Kit contains a leather wax to protect and grease the sheath, a protective oil to rub on the handle and axe head, and a sharpening stone to grind and sharpen the axe’s edge.

Gränsfors Oil
Gränsfors Oil is an environment-friendly and completely non-toxic oil manufactured in Sweden. The oil is 100 per cent unsaturated fatty acids sourced from linseed oil. As the oil dries, it forms a protective film of linoxin. We recommend that you treat the axe handle with the oil once a year in order to extend the life of the handle.
Gränsfors Oil has also been developed to protect the axe head against rust.
Gränsfors Sharpening Stone
The Gränsfors Sharpening Stone is comprised of ceramic abrasive with a grain structure developed to best supply the needs of coarse and fine grinding. The coarse, 180-grit side is used for repairing damage from hard wear, whereas the finer, 600-grit side is used for fine grinding
The stone is normally used with water, but can also be used dry. The Sharpening stone features a rubber case.
Gränsfors Leather wax
Gränsfors Leather Wax is manufactured in Sweden using 100 percent natural raw materials.
Regular lubrication of your axe’s sheath will make the leather smoother and water-repellent. The Leather Wax will extend the life of the axe sheath.
