Accommodation

WHERE

Accommodation is included in our blacksmithing courses. The accommodation is located in Baståsen in the village of Gränsfors, about 800 m walking distance from the factory, divided into two houses called Götes and Gränsfors Öfre. For accompanying family or for longer stays, we recommend accommodation at the Sagaliden campsite nearby.

NUMBER OF NIGHTS

One overnight stay is included in our 2-day courses, and four nights for the 5-day courses. You are allocated accommodation on site, in most cases in single rooms or sometimes in a shared double room.

TO BRING

You bring your own sheets and towels. Can be booked extra primarily for international guests by agreement via courses@visitsagaliden.se. Other items available in the accommodations are blankets/pillows, soap, washing-up liquid, toilet paper, household utensils, etc. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the houses due to allergies – but exceptions can be made for separate accommodation by agreement.

EXTRA ACCOMMODATION

If there is a need for accommodation for course participants the day before or the day after the course, it can be arranged for a supplement of SEK 395 per person and night. Please note that breakfast is not included in an extra night’s stay, you must take care of that yourself. Extra accommodation for course participants can either be booked directly when booking the course or afterwards by contacting courses@visitsagaliden.se. Accompanying persons can stay in the accommodations as availability allows by agreement, for an additional fee of SEK 495 per person and night. Payment for extra accommodation for international guests is made in advance by invoice.

GÖTES

An older, red, larger house in two storeys, located approx. 800 m upstream from the axe factory. Götes has four bedrooms, divided into 1 larger double room with associated anteroom/common space. and 3 spacious single rooms on the ground floor. On the lower level there are also common areas, including a bathroom, hall, and spacious kitchen with a substantial kitchen table and kitchen sofa.

GRÄNSFORS ÖFRE

Next to Götes is the slightly more modern house Gränsfors Öfre, with yellow windows and doors. Downstairs there are 2 furnished single rooms, as well as common areas such as kitchen, living room, bathroom and separate toilet. Upstairs there is a spacious common room as well as a large double room and a room that can be arranged as either a single or double room.

SAGALIDEN CAMPSITE

Longer stays before or after the course, for accompanying family or for a combined holiday can be booked advantageously at Sagaliden campsite. Beautifully located next to Lake Storsjön, with small-scale rental of houses/rooms/cottages and pitches for motorhomes, Sagaliden is approx. 15 minutes by car from Gränsfors. Approx. 25 minutes by bus. Carpooling can usually be arranged. Accommodation can be booked directly on Sagaliden’s website (visitsagaliden.se) or manually to courses@visitsagaliden.se.
