Log-building courses

At a log-building course at Gränsfors Bruk, instructor Andreas Hipf takes course participants through log-building from log to finished house.

Participants have the opportunity to try out and use various broad axes, other axes and traditional equipment for log-building. Instruction is also given in the use of modern equipment for sawing and milling logs for building log houses.

You can come alone, but if you are a larger group, the maximum number of people in a course is 8 people.

Since Andreas is a very good carpenter from Germany, all teaching can be offered in Swedish, English and German if needed.

The minimum age for course participants is 16. Lunch and dinner are included in the course prices. Accommodation is not included but can be booked separately. Bring hard-wearing clothing and your own equipment if you wish.

The course books are ‘From Log to Log House’ by Sven-Gunnar Håkansson and ‘Knuttimring’ [Timber Jointing] by Jan-Ove Jansson.
